Event PLanning
At California T's our fall was packed printing shirts for Greek Rush, Homecoming, football games, and back-to-school events. We invited the Greek organizations on campus to a "tee party" where they got to see our live screen printing in action and receive information on our services for their merchandise. I reached the board by utilizing the Texas Tech Panhellenic website and sending Teams calendar invites. Attendeees were also given pizza, drinks, and California T's merch, and shopped in store while waiting to print their shirt. I got to design the tee and work with our printing team to determine the easiest way to have 15+ organizations screens on hand. We had a successful event with almost 100 attendees and we retained 10 new sales accounts from this event.
In 2023 I served as treasurer of the Texas Tech National Retail Federation. My task was to create a fundraising event and bring in new members to join the student organization. Due to COVID-19, the HRM department has been unable to host a fashion show for boutiques in town in 4 years. I contacted the Dillard's Campus Collective team and asked if they would provide clothes and co-host the event with our organization. Together we planned to have our NRF students come to be "stylists" for the fashion show and pick items from Gianni Binni, Free People, and other brands they were promoting. I asked local businesses to donate items to our raffle and raised $200 from tickets alone! H-E-B and McCallister's Deli donated food and drinks, Dillard's visual merchandising team put together the balloon arch and sheer panels, and the College of Human Sciences provided us the space, lighting, and chairs for the event.

Through this event, we raised money and had 75 attendees which was more than anticipated. The following semester membership for our organization grew from 10 to 30 people. The department was thrilled to have an event again and students felt empowered after learning the back end of styling and fashion shows.
